Mt. Mulligan Lodge Receives One MICHELIN Key

16 Oct, 2026

Mt Mulligan Lodge has been awarded One MICHELIN Key in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide.

It is the first time the lodge has received a Key, the hotel equivalent of the MICHELIN Star, which recognises the world’s most exceptional places to stay. This year the Guide expanded its Australian selection to 54 hotels, from coastal retreats to city landmarks. We are proud to be among them, and one of only two remote outback properties to receive a Key for the first time. For us, this recognition is a celebration of a truly special place.

Set beneath the ancient escarpment of Ngarrabullgan on a 28,000-hectare working cattle station, Mt Mulligan Lodge offers an intimate way to experience the Queensland outback, with just 28 guests at a time. MICHELIN inspectors look for exceptional design, service and character, along with a genuine connection to place. Here, that connection is everywhere: in the timber and stone of the lodge, in menus shaped by regional produce, and in the stories of the goldfields and old township our guides share each day.

To be recognised is an honour, and one that belongs first to our team. Their warmth, care and local knowledge shape every stay, and this Key reflects everything they bring to the lodge. We are grateful, too, to every guest who has made the journey out here, and to the neighbours, partners and producers who help us share the very best of the region. Most of all, it is a tribute to the country itself. Ngarrabullgan inspires everything we do, and we look forward to welcoming many more guests to discover it.
