There are few things that really signal you’ve switched off and are on holidays than a sunset cocktail, especially when it’s served with vistas of the majestic Ngarrabullgan (Mount Mulligan).

Sunset cocktails and canapes are a daily ritual at the all-inclusive Mt Mulligan Lodge, with settings alternating between the main pavilion, the firepit down by the weir and the aptly named Sunset Bar. Found three hours drive from Cairns, this luxury outback experience is exclusively for the (maximum) 28 guests staying at any one time.

Luxury is done differently here. You feel as comfortable as if you are staying at a close friend’s home, which is why a self-serve bar is set up in the Main Pavilion for you to help yourself during your stay. Prefer poolside cocktails? Friendly staff are on hand to mix your favourite tipples.

With a bounty of top notch local produce available in North Queensland – from coffee to locally distilled spirits and tropical fruits – the cocktail list at Mt Mulligan Lodge also provides a twist on the expected.
